These marble track parts from Hubelino are great! The fit very well on top of Duplo bricks, so building different marble tracks are very easy & fun to play with.

The ‘basic building box’ provides a good basis. What other fun bricks could be added to the system?

There are ofc. some copycats, but there also some nice new printable bricks found. Let’s add some new stuff.

Marble flex track

Since I was just playing around with OpenSCAD, created a Duplo compatible flexible train track, it was quite obvious building a marble flex track too.

Since printing time is always too long, let’s focus on designing a quick to print flex track. A fast way of printing, is printing single walls only. This could be very well designed with OpenSCAD, using the brick-generator:

First adding two 2×2 bricks at the right distances and then create a single wall structure inbetween, finalized by cutting a hole trough the whole block.

After a while, this single wall print, was not so strong after all. Although it had 2 single walls per ‘section’, when one was broken, the second wall snapped also quickly. So just redisgned a more stury version (flex_track_05.stl) in CAD:

Youtube blogger Gravity Bites created many marble tracks. Within the Hubelino DIY parts, this flex track is rated 3 out 5 best add-ons, found on the internet! That’s a nice achievement! Wacht his top 5 printed parts here:

Simple track

What about a laser cutted bridge part? A simple hole inside a plywood piece. Could be used from 1 to 4 brick heights. This is extremely fast created on a laser cutter, just add some color for fun.

Printed marbles…

Let’s try my sons name on two colored printed balls…

Besides some grinding after printing, it did work.
